To realize a sustainable society, it is important for each of us to deepen our knowledge of environmental issues and understand the impact our daily behaviors and choices have on the environment.

We at the OMRON Group conduct environmental education and awareness-raising activities with the aim of enhancing each employee's awareness of environmental conservation and improving the level of environmental conservation activities both at work and at home.

In Japan, we conduct participatory education for all employees and education by employee rank and department to disseminate OMRON's environmental initiatives. We conduct e-learning every year for not only employees but also temporary and contracted employees, explaining the reason why the OMRON Group is addressing environmental issues, the importance of environmental management systems, and environmental initiative themes (energy saving, waste reduction and recycling, effective use of water resources, etc.) and goals at each business site.

We also distribute "environmental booklets" that list the environmental initiative themes and goals of each business site. This encourages employees to write down themes they will work on at work and at home, such as energy conservation and waste reduction, so that they can incorporate these into their daily actions.

In fiscal 2023, as part of compliance training, we also conducted awareness-raising activities for all employees in Japan on the risks of greenwashing, which has become a problem in recent years. Moreover, we held a seminar on environmental laws and regulations by an external lecturer as part of education for each rank and department.

We are also working to raise environmental awareness among employees outside Japan through e-learning and webinars for each region and country.

We are committed group-wide to contributing to the global environment through our businesses and reducing the environmental impact of our business activities.

With regard to our environmental stance and ongoing activities, we disclose information through various media such as Integrated Reports and website, with transparency and continuity.

We report in our Integrated Report and on our website on the progress of activities that are based on OMRON Environmental Policy*, as well as information in accordance with the TCFD framework.

At the long-term vision/medium-term management plan presentation held in March 2022, we introduced our long-term vision, which states that we will work to realize carbon neutrality as a social issue. We also gave a presentation on our medium-term management plan, which states that we will step up sustainability initiatives and integrate business growth with sustainability initiatives to a greater degree than ever before.
