OMRON has been highly evaluated by ESG ratings organizations throughout the world, thus it is included in ESG indexes inside and outside of Japan. (As of August, 2022)

  • * ESG stands for Environment, Social, and Governance. An indicator of investment that makes not only the financial aspects of the company but also considering the environment and society as an important judgment factor of investment decision.

OMRON has been a component of the world-renowned Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World), an SI (sustainability investment) stock price index for five years since 2017.

Also a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (DJSI Asia Pacific) for twelve years since 2010.

DJSI is a stock price index created jointly by S&P Dow Jones Indices in the United States.
DJSI is used to assess the sustainability of the world's major companies from economic, environmental, and social perspectives.

OMRON Rated "A-" by CDP in Climate Change and Water Security for the 3rd and 2nd Consecutive Years Respectively

OMRON has been rated "A-" in Climate Change and Water Security by CDP, an international non-profit organization that runs a global environmental disclosure system, for its outstanding leadership in environmental initiatives and disclosure transparency. Each year, CDP surveys companies on climate change, deforestation, and water security, scores them in terms of how effectively they respond to such challenges on a scale of A to D-, and releases survey findings in its annual reports. This year, CDP surveyed about 12,000 companies globally. OMRON has been rated A- for Climate Change for the third consecutive year and for Water Security for the second consecutive year.

OMRON Awarded the Silver Class Distinction in the S&P Global Sustainability Awards 2022

OMRON was awarded the Silver Class distinction in the S&P Global Sustainability Awards, which were announced in the Sustainability Yearbook 2022 showcasing the sustainability performance of the world's largest companies. Based in the U.S., S&P Global is one of the world's leading providers of research and ratings in the field of socially responsible investing.
S&P Global assessed roughly 7,500 globally prominent companies in the Environmental, Social, and Governance & Economic Dimensions. Companies within the top 15% of each of the 61 industries are listed in the Sustainability Yearbook 2022 for their outstanding initiatives for sustainability. Companies achieving an S&P Global ESG Score within a range of 1% to 5% of the top-performing company's score in their industry are awarded a Silver Class distinction.

OMRON Awarded Gold Rating from EcoVadis for Sustainability

Headquartered in France, EcoVadis is a third-party organization that assesses and monitors the sustainability of suppliers. Using a highly trusted, independent joint platform, EcoVadis comprehensively assesses more than 85,000 suppliers in 160 countries and 200 industries, covering four group themes: environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
OMRON started to disclose its information on the platform in 2018, and was rated Gold in 2021, a rating to recognize companies scoring the top 5% of all assessed, which means that OMRON's initiatives in sustainability have been highly evaluated by its customers.

OMRON Included in the "Nadeshiko Brand"

OMRON Corporation has been selected as the "Nadeshiko Brand" for the fifth consecutive year.
The Nadeshiko Brand, a joint initiative by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and the Tokyo Stock Exchange, selects TSE-listed enterprises that are outstanding in encouraging women's success in the workplace as attractive stocks to investors.
True to CEO Yamada's declaration that "diversity drives OMRON growth," we at OMRON have been working to promote diversity, starting full-fledged efforts in 2008 to give women more opportunities to play active roles at work.
Specifically, we established a dedicated diversity promotion department in 2012 to provide women with dual support in career development and work-life balance, offering them a work environment in which they have choices of training and flexible workstyle.
Additionally, we are working to raise awareness of managers and female workers.

OMRON Included in the "Health & Productivity Stock Selection"

OMRON has been selected, for the fourth consecutive year, for inclusion in the 2022 Health & Productivity Stock Selection, which is jointly selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE).
Under the Health & Productivity Stock Selection program, companies are selected from within TSE-listed enterprises engaging in a health and productivity management program in which they focus on and strategically carry out efforts with regard to their employees' health from a management perspective. OMRON has been making efforts in this regard, including the formulation of the OMRON Health Management Declaration in fiscal 2017, inclusion of "Improving awareness of wellness management" in one of the sustainability goals linked to its medium- and long-term management plans, and leadership that top management has shown in expediting these initiatives.

Health & Productivity Stock Selection

OMRON Certified as Health & Productivity Management Organization

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Nippon Kenko Kaigi jointly offer the Certified Health & Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program to recognize enterprises that are outstanding in implementing initiatives to promote health and productivity management including efforts aimed at addressing regional health problems.
OMRON Corporation and OMRON Healthcare have been certified to be among “White 500” large-scale Health & Productivity Management Organizations for the sixth consecutive year, with OMRON Expert Link for the second consecutive year and OMRON Social Solutions for the first time.

OMRON Wins "G" Award in the Nikkei Integrated Report Awards 2021

OMRON's Integrated Report 2021 (https://www.omron.com/global/en/ir/irlib/annual/) won the G of ESG Awards in the NIKKEI Integrated Report Awards 2021.
The Awards, renamed this year from the Annual Report Awards held every year since FY1988, aim to further improve and promote Japanese companies' reports.
The G award, which follows Grand Prix and semi-Grand Prix, highly recognizes our corporate governance initiatives for the following reasons among others:
- Statement of corporate governance transition and structure demonstrates how OMRON led Japanese companies in complying with the Corporate Governance Code
- One-on-one corporate governance talk shows how oversight and executive functions are being separated
- Detailed statement of BoD policies in place, key themes, and effectiveness evaluations are highly convincing.
