OMRON Receives METI Minister's Award for Corporate Governance of the Year 2018
OMRON has received the newly-established METI Minister's Award for Corporate Governance of the Year 2018, an award program organized by the Japan Association of Corporate Directors (JACD).
This award program has been organized by the JACD since fiscal 2015 with a view toward supporting companies that have achieved sound growth over the mid- and long-term through good corporate governance.
The METI Minister's Award is presented to companies recognized as having established a successful model of having an independent nominating committee and other organizations effectively supervise their plans concerning, in particular, the selection and succession of presidents and CEOs, the planning of which is fundamental for corporate governance. OMRON was selected for this prestigious award because it has maintained a high transparency of the CEO nomination process performed by the "CEO Selection Advisory Committee" which was established in 2006, has secured the effectiveness of the committee dedicated to appointing the CEO, and has achieved effective utilization of the committee.
OMRON Selected for the "Nadeshiko Brand" Designation for the Second Consecutive Year
OMRON Corporation has received the "Nadeshiko Brand" designation, a joint initiative by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and the Tokyo Stock Exchange to select and publicize enterprises that encourage women's success in the workplace, for the second consecutive year.
In its current medium-term management plan extending through fiscal 2020, OMRON has made it clear that a human resources strategy forms one of its key pillars. True to CEO Yamada's declaration that "diversity drives OMRON growth," we are focusing on the promotion of diversity. With regard to the expansion of opportunities for women to succeed in the workplace, OMRON began full-fledged efforts in 2008 and established a dedicated department for the promotion of diversity in 2012, thus providing dual-faceted initiatives to support the "career development" and "work-life balance."
OMRON Included in the "2019 Health & Productivity Stock Selection"
OMRON has been selected, for the first time, for inclusion in the 2019 Health & Productivity Stock Selection, which is jointly selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE).
Under the Health & Productivity Stock Selection program, companies are selected from within TSE-listed enterprises engaging in a health and productivity management program in which they focus on and strategically carry out efforts with regard to their employees' health from a management perspective. OMRON has been selected in recognition of its ongoing efforts in this regard, including the formulation of the OMRON Health Management Declaration, inclusion of "Improving awareness of wellness management" in one of the sustainability goals linked to its medium- and long-term management plans, and leadership that top management has shown in expediting these initiatives.
OMRON Rated Gold in EcoVadis Assessment
Headquartered in France, EcoVadis offers a joint platform to assess and monitor the sustainability of suppliers. Using the platform, EcoVadis conducts surveys and assessment of more than 50,000 suppliers in 150 countries and 190 business sectors, covering a wide range of criteria across themes including the environment, fair labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. OMRON was rated Gold by EcoVadis for the first time in fiscal 2019. This means the company’s initiatives in sustainability such as the environment have been highly evaluated by customers.
Won the Grand Prize in the fifth "WICI Japan Awards for Excellence in Integrated Reporting,"
OMRON Integrated Report 2017 has been awarded the Grand Prize in the fifth "WICI Japan Awards for Excellence in Integrated Reporting," organized by the World Intellectual Capital Initiative (WICI) Japan. OMRON received the award for Excellence in Integrated Reporting for the fourth consecutive year, but won the Grand Prize for the first time.
The award was granted in recognition of the report as a masterpiece in encouraging stakeholders to foresee business activities in conjunction with excellent evaluation for the efforts to put integrated thinking into management practice and its concise explanation.
Named second in JCGR's corporate governance survey（2016）
In the 2016 Corporate Governance Index Survey (JCG Index Survey) conducted by the Japan Corporate Governance Research Institute, Inc. (JCGR), OMRON Corporation was ranked second among the 150 respondents of the survey questionnaire. The JCG Index Survey questionnaire was sent to all companies listed in the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Awarded Grand Prix in NIKKEI Annual Report Award 2017
OMRON's Integrated Report 2017 became the winner of the Grand Prix Award in the NIKKEI Annual Report Awards 2017, OMRON won the award for 3 consecutive years, following the Semi-Grand Prix of the previous year.
"Nikkei Annual Report Award" is a prestigious contest which Nikkei Inc, has been held every fiscal year since FY 1988. The purpose of the contest is further expanding and disseminating of the annual report. In FY 2017, one Grand Prix, four semi-Grand Prix, two Special Awards and 15 Excellence Awards were selected for 100 applications. OMRON's integrated report of this time is has received an evaluation of "A description that makes it read as one story pillar based on the new medium-term management plan is a masterpiece" and "Progressive governance" etc.
OMRON Receives "IR Special Award" from JIRA
OMRON accepted 2018 IR Special Award from the Japan Investor Relations Association (JIRA). This is the second time OMRON received the honor following 2005, and the first time in three years since the company won the Best IR Award in 2015. IR Special Award is to recognize companies that have been continuously superior in IR practices for a long term, and those that were prominent in IR activities.
OMRON (Shanghai) recognized for excellent environmental activities
The 2015 Presentation of Best CSR Practices was held by the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (CAEFI), affiliated with China’s Ministry of Commerce. At the presentation, OMRON (SHANGHAI) CO., LTD. presented its energy-saving project for air conditioners, which was recognized as an excellent activity in the category of Environment Performance.
